Mixed animal clinic in the mid-Willamette valley is seeking a full-time veterinary assistant. We are looking for a candidate that possess good critical thinking and problem-solving skills, compassion, a positive attitude, follow-through, and excellent communication and teamwork skills. Multi-tasking and accepting constructive criticism are essential. Punctuality is expected. The right candidate would be flexible in attitude and work habits.
This position includes a full range of responsibilities, including:
-Interacting with clients pleasantly and efficiently on the phone and in person
-Assisting clients with questions and appointment scheduling
-Making change and processing credit cards
-Retrieving and maintaining medical records
-Checking in patients for appointments
-Assisting veterinarians and technicians with patient care by following oral and written directions including animal restraint, treatments, collecting lab specimens, and filling medications
-Maintaining and cleaning equipment and facility.
We are willing to train qualified applicants, but experience is preferred, and some animal handling experience (previous vet work, grooming, FFA, 4H) is required. Spanish language fluency is a plus.
